This webinar will explore the opportunities and latest developments in the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in safety assessment. Three leading experts will discuss how AI and approaches such as machine learning can be used to improve toxicity prediction and reduce reliance on animal models. 

The course will explore quality assurance procedures, comprehensive approach to quality control measures, familiarisation with standardized methodologies, key principles of metrology and their application in HBM, hands-on training. 

Participants should have a basic understanding of analytical chemistry. It is open for both PARC members and non-members, although priority will be given to PARC members.

This two-hour webinar will give foundational basics and background on skin sensitisation and the OECD Test Guideline 497 followed by an in-depth discussion and live demo of the new in silico method known as SARA-ICE: Skin Sensitization Risk Assessment - Integrated Chemical Environment Model.

The NC3Rs, HESI, and ICCS are co-sponsoring the inaugural Innovate EcoSafety Summit. This meeting, organised by a multi-sector committee, will gather experts to advance environmental safety assessment, address scientific priorities, and coordinate future ecotoxicology work.

The 2025 summit will focus on applying NAMs to improve ecological risk assessment and hazard screening, with themes on:

• Replacing acute in vivo fish testing.
• Endocrine disruptor assessment for fish and amphibians.

This workshop provides a first introduction and hands-on experience on the topic. It is suitable for anyone with an interest in synthesizing evidence from animal studies, e.g. researchers, animal welfare officers, etc. Researchers interested in systematic review of clinical or in vitro studies will also find this workshop useful. This workshop is funded by the ZonMW program “Meer kennis met minder dieren” and therefore free of charge.
