The SOT 64th Annual Meeting and ToxExpo will feature five days of Featured and Scientific Sessions, poster presentations, and social events, as well as the popular three-day ToxExpo.

This webinar explores the development and application of non-animal approaches in cardiovascular science, including using human cardiac tissue and stem cells and computational modelling of cardiovascular disease. Cardiovascular, blood and lymphatic system research is the fourth highest area of animal use for basic research in the UK and Europe with researchers often relying on animals to study the causes and treatments for heart disease and test drugs for cardiac side effects.

The program of the event includes: NICEATM Update, U.S. EPA Update, ASPIS Project, New Approach Methods (NAM) in Japan, Animal-free Safety Assessment Collaboration, ONTOX, New Developments of EBTC, Update on CAAT Activities Advancing 21st Century Toxicology.

Registration includes a boxed lunch for those attending in-person who register by February 25, 2025.

This conference aims to bring together researchers from all career stages to share expertise and experience, showcase innovative technologies and approaches in action, and reflect on scientific progress that is helping to replace animal use across research and testing.

Overall, the workshop aims to contribute to strengthening a robust, scientifically sound and transparent application of read-across in chemical risk assessment across organisations. The event is intended for all interested stakeholders, especially risk assessors and applicants. The 3R-Network BW Annual Conference 2025 will focus on “Ex vivo, de novo & in silico models in biomedical research”, and will take place at the University of Stuttgart, on Campus-Vaihingen.

The upcoming 8^th 3D Cell Culture conference will focus on the application areas of functional precision medicine and address the following questions: How can 3D cell culture technologies help improve patient outcomes in the treatment of serious diseases? Which models are currently being tested, implemented, improved? What are the potentials of organoids, cellular aggregates and microphysiological systems (MPS), where are the current limitations?
