LIVe2024 intends to be a unique exchange platform for scientists interested in in vitro respiratory researches, stakeholders from academia, pharma, biotech, chemical, tobacco, consumer goods, medical devices industries, CROs and regulatory agencies.

The meeting focuses on predictive in vitro lung models designed for basic research, efficacy and toxicity testing. It aims to present the state-of-art of in vitro lung models, and to map out the route for its future development and use.

The course aims at providing state-of-the-art knowledge on the recent developments in toxicological hazard and risk assessment. A limited number of lectures will provide insights in these developments, emphasizing the role of so-called New Approach Methodologies (NAMs). It includes 2 online webinars on 28 May 2024 and 30 May 2024, 2 days of in-person training on 2 & 3 July 2024 and a follow up online call on 29 August 2024

The EUROoCS2024 Conference will showcase the latest scientific advancements in the field and favour discussions on technological, industrial and regulatory challenges/opportunities. Topics such as (multi)-organ and disease models, organoids-on-chip, PK/PD modelling, technology platforms, read-out assays, standardization and qualification and toxicity among others, will be addressed.

Deadline for abstract submission: 15/01/2024.

Abstracts submission deadline: 19 February 2024

The 5-day training features both lectures and laboratory hands-on sessions. In this interdisciplinary format, the participants will learn the underlying concepts and principles of Organ-on-Chip technology. It targets M.Sc., MD and PhD students that are beginning their research in the fascinating interdisciplinary field of Organ-on-Chip. Professionals from industry who want to learn about the basics and practice hands-on in lab are also welcome.

The next VPH Conference will take place in Stuttgart (Germany) in September 2024 and will focus on "Data-driven Simulation Technologies for Clinical Decision Making".

The InSilico World Workshop is organised as a satellite event on the 3 September 2024.

The congress theme “Toxicology – A Quest for safe Chemicals and Medicines” reflects the congress programme including a variety of topics dealing with safety of drugs and environmental chemicals, new and emerging technologies, personalised medicine, human health effects caused by exposure to chemicals as well as safety issues arising from climate changes.
